Lizard Resuscitation Paisley

I found this cute & informative lizard health and safety sign on the internet today. A little bit of googling showed that it already has a long and illustrious career of being posted on the internet for giggles. There's even a tattoo...

The drawings are really quite special and so I give you: lizard resuscitation paisley *_*

Here it is:

Here's a clean, repeating tile if you need it for anything:

And the individual line drawings, just in case:

Nautiloid Fencepost

Fencepost of the Week #52

This is a heavily photoshopped image from 2003, when I was just starting to play with the possibilities of digital photography.

The dark-brownish bit in the middle is a long-dead toad - hung on the fencepost by an avian predator in order to extract the tasty bits inside without eating the poisonous skin.

Earth Star Emergence

Monday Mushroom #27

Geastrum triplex - Collared Earthstar
This is a photoshopped composite of separate photos of several eathstars. It illustrates how they pull themselves up, out of the ground. Eventually they distrubute clouds of spores from the hole in the top - very like puffballs.

Hares 'o Bute

Wildlife Wednesdays #20

I have lived for quite a few years in Cowal, and have seen hares there on only three occasions - always mountain hares Lepus timidus. But every single time I visit Bute I see hares - brown hares, Lepus europaeus - in great abundance.

However the photograph below is a misleading fiction as it is a composite of 8 photographs of just 4 individuals as they run about the field. (there are 18 hares in the image.)
